All of our adoptable pets are housed with foster families. They have been spay/neutered, micro chipped and crate trained. They have all been living in a family environment so have been evaluated for temperament and personality. We believe that we should know each pet well enough to make sure that when adopted, everyone lives happily ever after.
We know nothing about Hershey's past other than she was never cared about enough to be spayed or have heart worm preventative. While she was living at Dr. Sullivan's clinic, his staff taught her to walk on a leash, and more importantly, that people can be nice to her. Hershey has been spayed but needs Heart worm treatment. Hershey went into a foster home around the first of July and has really blossomed. She is now a loving, gentle girl but still a bit timid when she meets you. She is a wonderful, sweet gentle giant.
Special Needs: Hershey needs heart worm treatment.
The DHS organized in November 2008 to care for the unwanted and neglected animals of Northeastern Louisiana. We are funded only by donations. We ARE making a difference but we still have a LOT to do....
