All of our adoptable pets are housed with foster families. They have been spay/neutered, micro chipped and crate trained. They have all been living in a family environment so have been evaluated for temperament and personality. We believe that we should know each pet well enough to make sure that when adopted, everyone lives happily ever after.
Roux has been spayed and microchipped and is ready to go home with her new family. She sleeps in her crate through the night. She is learning to walk well on a leash and has only had one setback in her housetraining and "Gee whiz. it was pouring down rain. I would have gotten my tummy wet if I went outside"
The DHS organized in November 2008 to care for the unwanted and neglected animals of Northeastern Louisiana. We are funded only by donations. We ARE making a difference but we still have a LOT to do....
